Abstract
A method of producing an insulated electric wire includes: a step of pre-heating an electric conductor to a temperature that is higher than 250°C and lower than or equal to 400°C; and coating, by extrusion, the pre-heated electric conductor with a thermoplastic resin having a melting point of at least 340°C or a glass transition temperature of at least 200°C, or a resin composition containing the thermoplastic resin, thereby producing an insulated electric wire including the electric conductor and a coating film that is formed from the thermoplastic resin or the resin composition. An insulated electric wire, a coil, and a motor are also disclosed.
