Abstract
The present invention relates to a positive electrode active material including a lithium composite transition metal oxide in the form of a single particle formed of 10 or fewer primary particles, having a composition represented by Formula 1 described herein, and a coating layer including a coating element (M) formed on the lithium composite transition metal oxide, wherein the coating element (M) is at least one selected from Al, W, Cu, Zr, Ni, Co, Sr, Mn, Y, Ti, Mg, Mo, B, Sn, Fe, Zn, and Si, and a single particle formation degree (χ) is greater than 0.5 according to Equation 1 described herein, a method for preparing the same, and a positive electrode and a lithium secondary battery which include the same.
