Abstract

A secondary battery (10) includes an electrode assembly (200) comprising a first electrode (230), a second electrode (240), and a separator (250) interposed between the first electrode (230) and the second electrode (240); a case (120) comprising a sidewall portion (122) surrounding a side surface of the electrode assembly (200) and a cover portion (121) extending in a horizontal direction from one side of the sidewall portion (122) on the electrode assembly (200); a terminal plate (160) that closes a first opening formed at a center of the cover portion (121) and is electrically connected to the first electrode (230); and a base plate (180) that closes a second opening formed on another side of the sidewall portion (122) and is electrically connected to the second electrode (240), wherein the first electrode (230) comprises at least one first substrate tab (210) electrically connected to the terminal plate (160), and wherein the second electrode (240) comprises at least one second substrate tab (220) electrically connected to the base plate (180).
