Abstract

A controlling switch for controlling a state of an electrical circuit comprising a housing enclosing modules comprising an input module to receive electrical power, a user interface module comprising a surface panel comprising a light-emitting assembly to the surface panel, capacitive touch areas to receive an input command, an output module to control the state of the electrical circuit based on the input command, a proximity sensing module to emit detection signals and receive reflected signals for detecting a presence of a user, wherein the surface panel and the proximity sensing module are positioned in different planes of the housing.
