Abstract

An adaptive signaling method of signaling between a first node (12) and a second node (14) is described. The adaptive signaling method comprises the steps of - generating, by the first node (12), a transmission signal to be transmitted to the second node (14), wherein the transmission signal comprises information on a custom modulation scheme to be used for communication between the first node (12) and the second node (14), wherein the custom modulation scheme comprises a custom set of constellation points; and - adapting, by the second node (14), a modulation scheme and/or a demodulation scheme used by the second node (14) for subsequent communication with the first node (12) based on the information on the custom modulation scheme comprised in the transmission signal. Further, a communication system, as well as a test and/or measurement system are described.
