Abstract

There is provided a computer implemented method (300) of testing the functioning of a telephone recording device. The method comprises: establish (301) a call with a telephone device, the call comprising transmitting a pre-recorded audio to the telephone device; obtaining (303) a recording of audio of the call, recorded at a telephone recording device associated with the telephone device; transcribing (305) the recorded audio of the call to obtain a transcription of the audio of the call; comparing (307) the transcription of the recorded audio of the call to a transcription of the pre-recorded audio that was transmitted to the telephone device to determine a similarity score; if the similarity score is below a predetermined threshold: providing (309) an alert that the telephone recording device associated with the telephone device is not functioning correctly.
