Abstract
[Object] To enable enhancement of spatiotemporal resolution and enable generation of high-quality images.[Solving Means] A light detecting apparatus includes a plurality of two-dimensionally arrayed pixels, and a signal processing section that generates an image on the basis of a pixel signal output from each of the plurality of pixels. Each of the plurality of pixels has a photoelectric converting element that detects an incident photon, and a pixel circuit that generates the pixel signal on the basis of whether the photoelectric converting element has detected a photon in each one of a plurality of detection periods arranged sequentially in a time-axis direction. Each of the plurality of detection periods has an encoded time width.
