Abstract

The invention relates to a container (10) for parenterally delivering a medicinal and/or nutritional product. The container (10) comprises a first flexible film (12) and a second flexible film (14), wherein at least one product chamber (16) for the medicinal and/or nutritional product is delimited by mutually opposite sides of the first flexible film (12) and the second flexible film (14) and by a seam (18) locally connecting the first flexible film (12) and the second flexible film (14). The container (10) further comprises a connector piece (26) partially interposed between the first flexible film (12) and the second flexible film (14) and partially extending from the product chamber (16), wherein the connector piece (26) comprises at least one connection interface (28) for withdrawing the medicinal and/or nutritional product from the product chamber (16). Moreover, the container (10) comprises a protection cover (30) enclosing the at least one connection interface (28). The protection cover (30) comprises an oxygen barrier and/or a carbon dioxide barrier. Moreover, a protection cover (30) is presented. Additionally, a method for manufacturing such a container (10) is described.
