Abstract

A method for increasing the elasticity of keratin fibers is described. The method for increasing the elasticity of keratin fibers comprises the steps of: (i) treating the keratin fibers by topical application of a cosmetic composition comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable medium: (a) a mixture of Hydroxypropylgluconamide and Hydroxypropylammonium Gluconate; and (b) lactic acid, or any cosmetically acceptable salt thereof; (ii) allowing the composition to remain in contact with the keratin fibers for a period ranging from about 5 seconds to about 1 hour. This method increases the elasticity of keratin fibers, in particular human hair, even in the case of damaged hair, reducing its trend to breakage under mechanical stress such as brushing or combing and hence, increasing its cosmetic appearance.
