Abstract
Medical devices, including insertable/implantable medical devices, may include proteins bound to a nickel titanium surface of the medical device. In some cases, the medical device may include a protein (e.g., a fibrin-binding protein) coating a surface of the medical implant. For example, the protein may be covalently bound via a covalent ester bond directly to the nickel titanium surface of the medical device. Also described herein are methods of making and using such medical devices.
