Abstract

A device for the cleaning of a nozzle for dispensing fluids comprises an elastomeric cleaning element (100). The cleaning element (100) comprises a plurality of cavities (120.1...16) extending from an upper surface (109). The plurality of cavities comprising a first cavity (120.1) having a first set of wall surface sections and a second cavity (120.2) having a second set of wall surface sections. The first set of wall surface sections includes a first section and the second set of wall surface sections includes a second section, wherein an angle between the first section and the second section in a plane parallel to the upper surface is between 10 and 80. This allows for mechanical interaction between the nozzle to be cleaned and the wall surface sections as well as the edges between the wall surface sections and the upper surface (109) of the cleaning element (100) along different directions without having to rotate the nozzle about its main extension. Therefore, the cleaning result may be improved without having to provide additional degrees of freedom. The device may include a plurality of cleaning inserts placed in the cavities of the cleaning device with different functions depending on the residues and the application. Thus providing a novel modular approach and multi-functional cleaning device.
