Abstract

A maintenance system (100) for performing maintenance of an aircraft engine (10) while the aircraft engine is still mounted to an aircraft (1), the system (100) having: a support fixture assembly (110) having a static member (111) removably securable to a first case (18C) of the aircraft engine (10) and a mobile member (112) removably securable to a second case (18D) of the aircraft engine (10), the static member (111) and the mobile member (112) being slidably engaged to one another; a brace fixture (120) secured to the static member (111); a shaft supporting rod (130) removably securable to the brace fixture (120), the shaft supporting rod (130) being centered relative to the case assembly (18) when supporting a shaft (22) of the aircraft engine (10), the shaft supporting rod (130) having a shaft-engageable end (131) removably securable to an end of the shaft (22) of the aircraft engine (10); and an intermediate support member (140) removably secured to the static member (111) and extending transversally therefrom, the intermediate support member (140) having a remote end (141) engageable to the shaft (22) of the aircraft engine (10).
