Abstract
The present invention relates to novel compounds derived from nutmeg and compositions for anticancer use containing the same. In the present invention, various novel compounds derived from nutmeg extract were isolated, and it was confirmed that most of the novel compounds exhibit cytotoxic effects against various cancer cell lines. Five compounds (3, 4, 6, 9, 11) have been found to exhibit high cytotoxic effects against gastric and colorectal cancers. Notably, compound 3 effectively induces apoptosis by regulating the cell cycle of cancer cells and also effectively suppresses tumor growth in xenograft mouse models, making it useful as an anticancer composition.
