Abstract

Method for immobilization of one or more agents on a carrier comprising rice husks in which the method comprises the provision of rice husks particles, one or more agents to be immobilized on rice husks, preparation of a liquid solution in water of the one or more agents, wetting the rice husks particles with the liquid solution, mixing the mixture of agents' liquid solution and rice husks, drying, the rice husks being not subjected to chemical modifications or pre-treated with crosslinking additives, in which wet rice husk particles are obtained in which water molecules of the agents' liquid solution are adsorbed by the rice husk particles surface into cavities, tunnels and pores of the rice husk particles; use of the obtained rice husk particles with immobilized agents for reactions catalyzed by the immobilized agents; rice husk with one or more immobilized agent in the form of distinct fragments of rice husk containing the one or more agents in which the distinct fragments of rice husk have a size in the range 100-1000 micron and in that the distinct fragments of rice husk are free from chemical or crosslinking additives.
