Abstract

A door actuating system (100) for operating a door (205) of a heavy vehicle (200), comprising a primary actuator (10) having a first end (11) coupled to a door of the vehicle and a second opposite end (12) coupled to a vehicle structure (210), wherein the primary actuator is configured to move between an extended state (P<ext>) and an compressed state (P<comp>) with a powered operation, and a secondary failsafe actuator (20) configured to move between an extended state (S<ext>) and a compressed state (S<comp>) with a manual operation, wherein the primary actuator and the secondary failsafe actuator are arranged in series between the door of the vehicle and the vehicle structure. Also, a method and a vehicle with such actuating system is disclosed.
