Abstract
A seal assembly (100) includes a seal (106) formed of a carbon material, and received within an inner bore in a carrier (108). The seal (106) extends for 360 degrees relative to a central axis of a bore (103) in the seal (106). A groove (116) is formed in an outer periphery (112) of the seal (106) and an inner periphery (110) of the carrier (108). A wire (114) is received within the groove (116) to lock the seal (106) within the carrier (108). A gas turbine engine (20) and a method are also disclosed.
