Abstract

The present invention provides a pathological diagnosis support apparatus that comprises: a determination unit that determines whether or not correction is necessary to optimize a classification result in intraoperative rapid cytodiagnosis, said correction being correction of a parameter indicating an effective magnification, which is the magnification of the size of a subject in an image of interest relative to the actual size of the subject, the image of interest having been obtained by using a camera to capture a microscope-produced image of a specimen cell to be classified as benign or malignant in intraoperative rapid cytodiagnosis; a notification unit that issues a notification indicating that parameter correction is necessary if correction is determined to be necessary; and a classification unit that classifies the specimen cell as benign or malignant if correction is determined to be unnecessary.
