Abstract

Provided is a method for estimating a cause of coagulation disorders in a blood specimen. The method comprises 1) calculating a parameter Ps related to a coagulation reaction of a specimen S, and a parameter Pm related to a coagulation reaction of a specimen M; 2) estimating whether the specimen S is coagulation factor inhibitor-positive based on Ps; and 3) estimating that the specimen S which has not been estimated to be coagulation factor inhibitor-positive in 2) is lupus anticoagulant-positive or coagulation factor-deficient based on Pm or based on Ps and Pm. The specimen S is a subject blood specimen with a prolonged coagulation time, the specimen M is a mixed specimen of the specimen S and a specimen N, and the specimen N is a normal blood specimen. Ps is calculated based on a measurement point or time at which a coagulation reaction curve or coagulation rate curve of the specimen S reaches a predetermined value, and Pm is calculated based on a measurement point or time at which a coagulation reaction curve or coagulation rate curve of the specimen M reaches a predetermined value.
