Abstract
An imaging apparatus includes an imaging unit having an imaging surface that captures an image formed by a variable magnification optical system, a generation unit configured to generate image information based on a signal output from at least a partial region of the imaging surface, and a control unit configured to perform electronic variable magnification control to vary a size of the partial region in parallel with varying a magnification of the variable magnification optical system.
