Abstract

The subject technology relates to processing visual content to generate and rank contextually relevant actions. An input image received at an electronic device is processed by a first machine learning model to detect one or more elements, including objects or textual portions within the visual content. Based on the detected elements, a set of candidate actions is generated for processing at least a portion of the image. The candidate actions are ranked using a ranking data structure that incorporates multiple ranking signals associated with contextual relevance, user interaction history, or content similarity. At least a subset of the ranked candidate actions is provided for display through a user interface of the electronic device for user selection. Selected actions may be executed locally or routed to network-connected services for additional processing.
