Abstract

Footwear having fit that is satisfactory to a user is provided. A design assist apparatus (1) includes: an input unit that receives, from a plurality of users, level data (10) of fit evaluated by each user for each region and pressure data (20) indicative of pressure applied to a foot for each region when footwear (40) is worn; a calculation unit that generates a relationship between a level of fit and pressure applied to a foot at the level as a prediction formula (30) for each region, based on the level data (10) and the pressure data (20) received from the plurality of users; a storage unit that stores the prediction formula (30) generated by the calculation unit; and an output unit that outputs pressure data (20) indicative of pressure applied to a foot. The calculation unit, when the input unit newly receives a level of fit from a user, determines pressure data (20) indicative of pressure applied to a foot in a region of footwear (40) from the received level of fit of the region, based on the prediction formula (30).
