Abstract

A patient support apparatus includes a frame having one or more sensors, a deck coupled to the frame, a mattress supported by the deck, and a controller mounted on the frame. The controller captures data of a patient resting on the mattress using the one or more sensors. The controller identifies a behavior of the patient based on the data of the patient. The controller engages the patient in a conversation about the behavior of the patient, the conversation driven by generative artificial intelligence. The controller identifies a condition of the patient based on the conversation, and generates a recommendation to relieve the condition of the patient.
