Abstract

A wearable radiation-protective device (10) is proposed that has an intended position at the neck of a user. The radiation-protective device (10) comprises: a head shield (12) and a support structure (80). The head shield (12) is a of sheet-like, pliable, and radiation attenuating first material. It has an outer edge (20) and an inner edge (22) and is arranged to position the inner edge (22) at the neck of the user in the intended position. The head shield (12) extends upwards from the inner edge (22) to the outer edge (20) in the intended position. The support structure (80) is attached to the head shield (12), deformable by hand, and arranged to bias the head shield (12) to have a desired shape in the intended position.
