Abstract

A method of decoding authenticated content is executed by a digital content player. The method comprises: receiving (710) a list of hash values corresponding to encrypted encoded segments of a digital content; receiving (720) encrypted encoded segments of the digital content; for each of at least one of the received encrypted encoded segments: generating (730) a hash value of the encrypted encoded segment; authenticating (740) the encrypted encoded segment by determining whether the hash value is in the list of hash values; generating (750) a decoded segment by decrypting and decoding the encrypted encoded segment if the encrypted encoded segment is authenticated. A countermeasure may be taken if one or more of the encrypted encoded segments are not authenticated.
