Disclosed is an image sensor (10) that comprises a plurality of pixels (110) configured to output pulses in response to photon incidence and a plurality of counters (212) provided in one-to-one correspondence to the plurality of pixels (110) and configured to count pulses output by the corresponding pixel (110). The plurality of pixels (110) includes a focus pixel (120).
