Abstract

A method performed by a base station to implement Delay Critical-Guaranteed Bit Rate Quality of Service (DC-GBR QoS) support is provided. Then method includes (i) receiving, at layer 2 (L2) protocol level, QoS flows from upper layer protocol, (ii) mapping the QoS flows to Data Radio Bearers (DRB) from one or more DRB profiles, (iii) processing the QoS flows according to the DRB at the L2 protocol level to establish a priority path to transfer prioritized data packets of the QoS flows and (iv) transporting the QoS flows to a Layer 1 (L1) protocol level. The prioritized data packets include Maximum Data Burst Volume (MDBV) compliant data packets and Guaranteed Flow Bit Rate (GFBR) compliant data packets.
