Abstract

A cooling device (100) associable with a heat-generating electronic device (50) of a server (30) includes a housing (120) having a fluid inlet (122) and a fluid outlet (124) and a divider (126) separating the interior of the housing into a first fluid compartment (128) and a second fluid compartment (130). Both the first fluid compartment (128) and the second fluid compartment (130) are fluidly connected to the fluid inlet (122). A heat transfer potential of the second fluid compartment (130) is less than the heat transfer potential of the first fluid compartment (128). At least one opening (140a, 140b) is formed in the divider (126) at a location downstream from the fluid inlet (122) and upstream from the fluid outlet (124). The first fluid compartment (128) is fluidly coupled to the second fluid compartment (130) at the at least one opening (140a, 140b).
