Abstract

A display device (DD) includes a display panel (DP) including a base layer (BL), light emitting areas (LA) and a non-light emitting area (NLA). A pixel defining layer (PDL) is disposed on the base layer (BL) and has pixel openings (OH) defined therein that overlaps the light emitting areas (LA). Light emitting elements (OLED, ED) are disposed in the pixel openings (OH). A light control layer (CCL) is disposed on the display panel (DP) and includes a light blocking pattern (BM). The light blocking pattern (BM) includes extensions (PT1), each of which extends in a first direction (DR1) to overlap the light emitting areas (LA) and the non-light emitting area (NLA), the extensions (PT1) being spaced apart in a second direction (DR2) that is perpendicular to the first direction (DR1). The light blocking pattern (BM) also includes connections that overlap the non-light emitting area (NLA) and that are disposed between extensions (PT1) that are adjacent to each other.
