Abstract

A system (100) for determining a presence of contrast agent flow artifacts, is provided. The system includes one or more processors (110) configured to receive (S110) X-ray attenuation data (120), the X-ray attenuation data representing, at each of a plurality of different points in time (i), a spatial distribution (130<i>) of contrast agent within a vascular region. The one or more processors (110) are also configured to analyze (S120) the X-ray attenuation data (120) to identify one or more differences (140<j>) between the spatial distributions (130<i>). The one or more processors (110) are also configured to determine (S130) a presence of at least one contrast agent flow artifact (150) in the vascular region based on the one or more differences (140<j>).
