Abstract

Provided is a breast pump diaphragm (100) for mounting to a diaphragm holder of a breast pump assembly. The diaphragm has a first exterior surface (104) for facing the diaphragm holder when the diaphragm is mounted thereto, and a second exterior surface facing away from the first exterior surface. A peripheral portion (108) of the diaphragm has a polygonal shape in plan when the diaphragm is viewed facing the first exterior surface or the second exterior surface. The polygonal shape is for enabling the diaphragm to be fitted to a polygonal mounting portion of the diaphragm holder. The diaphragm has a three-dimensional shape that has an axis of rotational symmetry (A1) extending through a center of the polygonal shape. The axis of rotational symmetry enables the diaphragm to be fitted to the polygonal mounting portion in a plurality of angular orientations adoptable by rotating the diaphragm about the axis.
