Abstract

Provided is a milk expression kit (10) that has a nipple-receiving member (52) in which a mother's nipple (NP) is at least partially receivable, a diaphragm holder (102), and a breast pump diaphragm (100) for mounting to the diaphragm holder. The diaphragm includes a first exterior surface (104), with a pump chamber being defined between the diaphragm holder and the first exterior surface when the milk expression kit is assembled for use. The diaphragm also includes a second exterior surface (106) facing away from the first exterior surface. The diaphragm is configured to transfer a variable pressure provided in the pump chamber to a breast chamber that is at least partly delimited by the second exterior surface. Further provided is a breast pump assembly comprising a variable pressure generator and the milk expression kit.
