Abstract

A microfluidic system includes a plurality of microfluidic devices in which microchannels are formed, the microfluidic system including: a plurality of reaction units, each of which has: an introduction unit configured to introduce one or more of a plurality of different fluids into a predetermined processing channel in order to mix the plurality of different fluids within the predetermined processing channel; and a reaction channel disposed downstream of the introduction unit and formed in the microfluidic device as microchannel constituting a part of the predetermined processing channel, the reaction channel being configured to allow a chemical reaction of a reactant contained in a mixed fluid of the plurality of different fluids to proceed, wherein the plurality of reaction units are arranged in series such that the reaction channels communicate with each other, and a volume of the reaction channel in one or more of the plurality of reaction units is different from a volume of the reaction channel in another of the plurality of reaction units.
