Abstract

A packaging (1) for fruit and vegetable products comprises at least one tubular wrapper (2), woven or extruded, made of virgin or recycled, compostable or biodegradable recyclable thermoplastic material, for containing fruit and vegetable products (A). The wrapper (2) has a continuous side wall (3), an upper end (4) and a lower end (5) of the wrapper material (2) gathered in a cord, the ends (4, 5) gathered in a cord being enclosed within a respective upper band (6) and a respective lower band (7); the upper band (6) including a label (8) of the flag or ribbon type, or a continuous label (9), also called C2C or clip to clip, which connects the upper band (6) to the lower band (7), the bands (6, 7) are folded around the respective ends (4, 5) enclosed in a cord and include closures obtained with one or more welding points (18) made using the bands (6, 7) of the labels (8, 9), the one or more welding points (18) being shaped as through holes or as contact points, with compression of the parts, respectively obtained by means of the passage of hot elements and/or the contact of hot elements, for example with suitable punches (19) heated by suitable heating means, for example by means of electrical resistances or by ultrasound; a packaging machine is also provided to produce such packaging (1).
