Abstract
A ceramic body according to this invention contains: a plurality of ceramic particles 1 including one or more selected from silicon carbide, silicon nitride, and aluminum nitride; a silicon phase 2 existing between the plurality of ceramic particles 1 and having a dopant dissolved in solid solution therein; and a plurality of dopant particles 3 existing in the silicon phase 2 and containing the dopant. The dopant is a Group 13 element or a Group 15. A content of the silicon phase 2 in the ceramic body is 20 to 80 % by mass. A porosity of the ceramic body is 30% or less.
