Abstract
The present invention provides a biomarker and its application for diagnosing systemic inflammation. The biomarker includes ADGRE3 mRNA or ADGRE3 protein, or fragments of ADGRE3 mRNA or ADGRE3 protein. The biomarker shows significantly different levels in samples from patients with systemic inflammation compared to healthy individuals. Clinical validation has confirmed the high sensitivity and specificity of this biomarker for diagnosis. Therefore, detecting the transcription level of ADGRE3 mRNA or the expression level of ADGRE3 protein in an individual sample can accurately diagnose systemic inflammation. Compared with existing inflammatory biomarkers, ADGRE3 mRNA and ADGRE3 protein exhibit higher sensitivity and specificity in diagnosing systemic inflammation.
