Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a method for manufacturing a high-strength stainless steel with excellent formability, and more specifically, to a stainless steel and a method for manufacturing the same, the stainless steel comprising, in percent by weight (wt%): C: 0.01% to 0.10%, N: 0.01% to 0.10%, Si: 0.01% to 1.00%, Mn: 0.01% to 3.00%, Cr: 10.0% to 20.0%, Al: 0.001% to 1.000%, and the balance of Fe and other unavoidable impurities, wherein a microstructure is a dual phase of a ferrite phase and a martensite phase, wherein a yield strength at room temperature is 350 MPa or more, and a tensile strength at room temperature is 500 MPa or more, and wherein an R-bar value of Formula (1) below is 1.0 or more. R-bar=R0+2×R45+R90/4 (wherein R0 is an R value in a direction parallel to a rolling direction, R45 is an R value in a 45-degree direction to the rolling direction, and R90 is an R value in a 90-degree direction to the rolling direction)
