Abstract

A rotor (100) of a mixed flow fan is disclosed. The rotor (100) includes one or more blades (130) extending from a hub wall (110) to a shroud wall (150). The leading edge (132) of each blade (130) has one or more notches (135), each notch (135) being formed by a backward sweeping edge (136) and a forward sweeping edge (140) defined on the leading edge (132). The notches (135) are defined between a transition point (146) and a shroud wall junction (152) on the shroud wall (150), the transition point (146) being on or proximate to a point (144) on the leading edge (132) that is substantially normal to an axially projected trailing edge root junction (142) of a neighboring blade.
