Abstract

A sliding member 10 includes a substrate 13, an alloy part 11, and a resin part 12. The alloy part 11 is a porous material formed with a Cu-based alloy containing Sn. The resin part 12 is impregnated in pores formed with the alloy part 11. The sliding member 10 has a sea-island structure in which the alloy part 11 is distributed as an island-shaped alloy-exposed portion 111 in the resin part 12 as a sea, on any exposed surface 20 exposed by cutting. When any observation region 22 is set in the exposed surface 20, and five inscribed circles with the largest diameters among inscribed circles inscribing the alloy-exposed portion 111 distributed in the resin part 12 in this observation region 22 are defined as first inscribed circles 31, all diameters D of the first inscribed circles 31 satisfy 40 µm ≤ D ≤ 240 µm.
