Abstract

The present disclosure pertains to a movable inspection device (10) for operation along a wire rope (1), the movable inspection device comprising a chassis (100), at least one pair of drivable wheels (111, 113; 121, 123), and at least one motor (130) configured to actuate a main wheel (111; 121) of each pair. Each pair includes a main wheel (111; 121) engaging a first lateral surface of the wire rope (1) and a secondary wheel (113; 123) engaging a second lateral surface. A transmission arm (110; 120) of the movable inspection device connects each main wheel to the corresponding secondary wheel, transmitting torque to drive the secondary wheel.
