Abstract

A floor mat retention system (100) is provided comprising a mat (110) with an upper surface and a lower surface, the lower surface having elongated protrusions (122,124,126 ) that extend radially relative to a central point. The protrusions may be arranged in groups (120), each group including at least two protrusions angled relative to one another to provide lateral resistance against carpet fibers, enhancing the mat's anti-slip properties. The protrusions may be tapered and rounded at their distal ends to minimize carpet damage. The system may include multiple groups of protrusions arranged in repeating patterns across the mat's surface, optimizing grip and stability. The system provides an effective solution for stabilizing chair mats on carpeted floors while protecting the carpet from wear and damage over time.
