Abstract
An absorbent article comprising a liquid permeable topsheet; an absorbent core; and a substantially liquid impermeable backsheet; wherein the absorbent core is sandwiched between the said topsheet and said backsheet; and wherein said backsheet is breathable, whereint said backsheet is made of a composite material, said composite material comprising, preferably consisting essentially of, even more preferably consisting of, a film and at least a layer of nonwoven fabric, wherein the film is positioned on a skin-facing surface of the backsheet and the nonwoven fabric is positioned on a garment facing surface of the backsheet, and wherein the composite material is substantially free of an adhesive layer between said film and said nonwoven, preferably wherein the film and nonwoven are substantially co-formed.
