Abstract

An image forming apparatus of the present invention is an image forming apparatus for forming an image on a recording medium conveyed from upstream to downstream. The image forming apparatus includes: an ink ejection section for ejecting an ink onto a recording medium; and an active ray irradiation section for irradiating, with active rays, the recording medium onto which the ejected ink has landed and which is conveyed from an upstream side to a downstream side in an active ray irradiation region. The active ray irradiation section irradiates, with active rays, the recording medium such that when the active ray irradiation region is divided into two in a central portion thereof in a conveyance direction of the recording medium, maximum irradiance of the active rays is located on the downstream side.
