Abstract

A printing apparatus includes a discharge unit (26) configured to discharge a print medium in a first direction a stacking unit (4) configured to stack, on a stacking surface (4a), the print medium discharged in the first direction by the discharge unit (26) and a regulation unit (421) configured to regulate, on the stacking surface (4a) of the stacking unit (4), a position of a front edge of the print medium in the first direction. The regulation unit (421) is configured to change, by use of a drive source, between a first posture, in which the front edge of the discharged print medium is regulated by an abutting surface (421a) on which the front edge abuts, and a second posture, in which the front edge of the discharged print medium is not regulated.
