Abstract

Process of ammonia cracking, comprising the following steps :- providing an ammonia feed stream,- passing at least part of the ammonia feed stream, or a gas derived from the ammonia feed stream, to a cracker unit for performing an ammonia cracking reaction,- providing a primary fuel and performing a combustion of said primary fuel thus generating heat and a flue gas comprising carbon dioxide,- providing heat from said combustion to the ammonia cracking reaction,- passing at least a portion of the flue gas to a carbon dioxide recovery unit for recovering a carbon dioxide enriched stream from the flue gas,wherein a cracked gas comprising hydrogen, nitrogen and optionally unconverted ammonia is obtained through the ammonia cracking reaction.
