Abstract

Using a reinforcing material for a hydrated solidified body containing bundles of carbon fiber filaments oriented in one direction which is characterized in that the bundles contain carbon fiber filaments and amorphous carbon which binds the carbon fiber filaments to each other, that the amorphous carbon accounts for 5 to 30% by weight of the total weight of the carbon fiber filaments and the amorphous carbon, that the bundles have an average length in the axial direction of the carbon fiber filaments of 5 to 100 mm, and that the number of the carbon fiber filaments constituting the bundle is 1000 or more, a reinforcing material for a hydrated solidified body which has excellent adhesiveness to a hydrated solidified body and has high flexural strength even though recycled carbon fibers are used as a raw material is provided.
