Abstract
Disclosed is a technique for imparting color tone difference to a silicon nitride sintered body. The silicon nitride sintered body of the disclosure has multiple crystal grains and a grain boundary phase that bonds the crystal grains together, with a brightness difference of 5 or greater as an L* value. The silicon nitride sintered body of the disclosure can be obtained by kneading silicon nitride powder and a secondary starting powder to obtain granules, and then molding the granules and firing them under specified conditions.
