Abstract
In a blast furnace control method according to the present invention, a temperature distribution in a blast furnace is estimated by executing heat transfer analysis using a numerical model of the blast furnace including a solidified layer of pig iron remaining on a furnace bottom and a blast furnace iron shell. A stress distribution in the blast furnace is estimated by executing stress analysis using the numerical model of the blast furnace and the estimated temperature distribution. An allowable range of a furnace wall temperature of the blast furnace is determined such that thermal stress applied to the blast furnace iron shell falls within an allowable range based on the estimated stress distribution. Cooling capacity of the furnace wall of the blast furnace is controlled such that the furnace wall temperature of the blast furnace falls within the determined allowable range.
