Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a method and an apparatus for detecting an internal short circuit of a battery. A method for detecting an internal short circuit of a battery according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include: acquiring a first time point voltage of at least one battery at a first time point after the battery enter a rest period; calculating a first time point effective capacity of the at least one battery based on a first state of charge (SOC), a state of health (SOH), and a battery initial capacity of the at least one battery at the first time point; calculating a second time point effective capacity of the at least one battery based on a second SOC, the SOH, and the battery initial capacity of the at least one battery at a second time point after the first time point; calculating an acting resistance of the at least one battery based on the first time point voltage, the first time point effective capacity, the second time point effective capacity, and an additional rest period time from the first time point to the second time point; and determining an internal short circuit of the at least one battery if the calculated acting resistance is less than a reference resistance value.
