Abstract

A chip breakability prediction device includes a storage unit that stores information on a workpiece and a tool in cutting, a reception unit that receives information on a workpiece to be subjected to cutting and a tool to be used, the workpiece and the tool being selected from the workpiece and the tool indicated in the information stored in the storage unit, and receives information indicating a feed rate and a cutting amount in the cutting, an arithmetic unit that derives information for predicting whether a chip is broken using the information received by the reception unit, and a display unit that displays the information for predicting whether the chip is broken, the information being derived by the arithmetic unit.
