Abstract

Provided are a coin recognition device, a coin recognition method, and a coin recognition program that can improve the angle-alignment performance for coins with a symmetrical pattern. The coin recognition device includes: an image acquisition unit configured to acquire an input image of a coin to be recognized; a reference angle acquisition unit configured to acquire a reference angle having a best matching score among matching scores obtained by performing matching between the input image and a pre-registered first reference image in increments of a first shift angle; a rotation angle determination unit configured to determine a rotation angle of the coin based on matching scores obtained by performing matching between the input image and a pre-registered second reference image at least at the reference angle and at a designated angle shifted from the reference angle by a specific angle; and a recognition unit configured to recognize the coin using the rotation angle of the coin determined by the rotation angle determination unit.
